Dear Mr McGuinty,
I am writing to you concerning the death of former GM and co-founder of Cultural Foundation Native Expressions Mr Yvan St Jean. I am formally requesting a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death and also requesting a full investigation into the practises of the Regional and Local Governance of Glengary, Prescott and Russell,
Regarding the death of Mr Yvan St Jean....it has been 16 months since his passing and still I have not received the final Supervising Coroners Report from the offices of Kingston Ontario,
A local MD listed his death as heart attack. Is it not odd that the MD had listed the cause of his death as a heart attack considering no autopsy had been performed at that point in time?
In fact, an autopsy would not even have occurred had I (M. Wertwyn) not requested one.
There are a lot of unanswered questions to this date....
Like why did it take over 48 hours to view Mr Yvan St Jeans' body?
Why did it take four days to find and locate his vehicle after the motor vehicle accident?
Why is it not mentioned anywhere that there was three small holes in windshield, while the rest of it remained intact?
Why is it not recorded that there was a wound to the left side of Mr Yvan St Jeans' temple?
And why did the police not allow myself personally to touch or even view Mr Yvan St Jeans hands? Does this not strike you as odd?
Why did the paramedic list Mr Yvan St Jean as unconscious upon arrival to the hospital? Was he still alive then? If so, then why was I not contacted immediately? I was a practising nurse prior to becoming disabled and in my own experience if I thought someone had passed away, I would have listed absence of pulse or absence of breath sounds, facial colouring etc. So what is the true story? I was led to believe that he died at the scene of the accident.
As for the governance of the Regional Government. I want it put on public record that two gunmen were sent to our home to threaten Mr Yvan St Jean so as not to expose the connection between the UCPR government and that of the past local nursing home scandal of our region.. Seems that they do not want the truths exposed. This incidence occurred a short time prior to his death. Mr Yvan St Jean went to the offices of the local OPP to file a report on this incident only to have two officers actually laugh at him and state "good luck with that". So whether or not they filed a report remains to be seen. What kind of provincial policing is that? This was and still is not a laughing matter!
After this visit we (Yvan and I) received many disturbing drive bys, which eventually led up to Mr Yvan St Jeans' death.
Continuing on the topic of the governance of Glengary Prescott and Russell both regional and local
levels.... and including our local MPP you need only to check out the cfne.org website to know that something was and continues to be horribly wrong. To my knowledge specific individuals were already under investigation by the RCMP and the tribunal prior to Mr Yvan St Jeans' death. But now more information has been uncovered and needs to be addressed as well.
For years prior to Mr Yvan St Jeans' death. Cultural Foundation Native Expressions and Yvan himself had to endure negligence, racism, intra-racism, blatant persecution, discrimination and conspiracy, all of which is irrefutable. The foreclosure of the land was indeed a result of all these actions caused by those mentioned above, along with others by way of family, friendships and known associates of the said politicians.
It is upsetting to note that the CFNE site is a land trust and also considered Sacred Grounds. Sacred by the many blessings and ceremonies. Sacred also by the burial of ashes of local former Miq Maq residential school survivor Mr Horace Loades and the former GM and co-founder of CFNE Mr Yvan St Jean as well. So why has this not been respected?
I would like to state publicly for the record that Cultural Foundation Native Expressions is copyrighted and it appears that some of our projects endeavours are in the process of being stolen i.e. Calypso Water Park is attempting to set up a tipi village. The region has announced that they wish to open a Nature Interpretation Museum. These endeavours already exist as part of the CFNE project and their attempts are considered an infringement of the copyrights of the Cultural Foundation Native Expressions Project.
For all of these reasons and so much more we here at CFNE are requesting a full inquiry into the death of Mr Yvan St Jean and into all the circumstances surrounding the attempted demise of Cultural Foundation Native Expressions. CFNE is an entity. We are not going away and are not giving up. This organization has a right to exist in the Nation Municipality, of the UCPR., in the Province of Ontario.
Respectfully,
Margaret Wertwyn, Acting General Manager
