Wikipedia Racism Defintion
"Racism, by its simplest definition, is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. People with racist beliefs might hate certain groups of people according to their racial groups. In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment. Racial discrimination typically points out taxonomic differences between different groups of people, even though anybody can be racialised, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination."

Institutional Racism is defined as
"the collective failure of an organization to provide an appropriate and professional service to people because of their colour, culture or ethnic origin"

Thin plumes of smoke wafted into the air as James Edwards, a faithkeeper of the Six Nations Confederacy, sprinkled bits of tobacco into the flames of a small campfire. This Order was provided in French only and a request for an order
in English was initially refused. Despite a complaint and a search there was no record of any relevant pertaining structure contained within the building code. Other non-native structures exist in the immediate region and have never received similar notices.

The French language Embrun-based weekly newspaper Le Reflet recently quoted Pommainville as saying "It is not the responsibility of La Nation employees, if Mr. St-Jean's friends do not understand what is written on the (French language only) notice."

CFNE wants to know if the financial contributors of the D. Pommainville Political Campaign; Mr and Mrs R. St. Pierre obtained the proper fire permits req'd prior to setting the fields adjacent to the CFNE site ablaze?

CFNE would also like to know why it took over 4 hours for the Nation Municipalitys' Fire Dept. to show up?

Much has been said of the want of what you term "civilization" among the Indians. Many proposals have been made to us to adopt your laws, your religion, your manners, and your customs. We do not see the propriety of such a reformation. We should be better pleased if we could actually see the good effects of these doctrines in your own practices rather than hearing you talk about them, or reading your newspaper on such subjects. Presentation Cultural Foundation Native Expressions Mr Yvan St-Jean, General Manager of the Cultural Foundation Native Expressions, addressed Council to explain protocols on Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity Programs, the Eastern Woodlands Aboriginal Village and the Cultural Foundation Native Expressions Community Centre Project. Precisions are made regarding Council"s decision to include $100,000 in the 2007 budget for financial requests related to community and cultural events. The Mayor of the Town of Hawkesbury stated that an organization wishing to make a financial request for cultural events must submit the request in writing to her municipality.

"With the e-mail and statements made to the media, Denis Pommainville has personally involved himself in a dispute between La Nation township building officials and an aboriginal organization over alleged infringements of language and native cultural rights. At issue is whether or not an open-air native ceremonial structure, which was erected for a ground blessing ceremony using traditional native construction methods on Robillard Road near Bourget, falls under the municipalitys building permit by-law. Also at issue is whether the French only stop work order and order to comply, issued by the municipality, are fully legal. All work on the structure was stopped when the documents were stapled to the structure by township staff. The documents demand that a building permit be obtained from the township before any work can continue. A permit would require the submission of a building plan complete with an engineers stamp of approval and the payment of a building permit fee of about $100.00."

There are other sites in Ontario with the same such structure. Not one of these projects encountered such fines, trouble and stop work orders.

Mr. Pierre Lemieux responded, "I am disappointed with the tone taken by Mayor Pommainville. We have worked together on projects in the past and will continue to do so in the future. There are, however, inaccuracies in his remarks that require correction"

The lawyers that has been retained for Cultural Foundation Native Expressions and for myself M. Wertwyn have been inquiring into the circumstances surrounding the death of Yvan St. Jean, it's late General Manager. This is obviously a serious situation. Investigation is ongoing.
